Dr. Miriam Chan, MD. Dr. Chan is dual board certified in both General Anesthesia and Pediatric Anesthesia by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Chan completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where she received three Bachelors of Sciences in Mathematics, Statistics, and Microbiology. She proceeded to earn her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Chan completed a General Pediatric Residency at the Nicklaus Miami Children’s Hospital. Following her General Pediatric training, she then went on to complete Anesthesiology specialty training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Finally, Dr. Chan completed her Pediatric Anesthesia Subspecialty training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, one of the leading children’s hospitals in the nation.
Dr. Chan has been an active member in the anesthesia community at both the local and national level. She is clinically active as the Local Medical Officer at our Tampa Children’s Blue Cloud facility as well as maintains clinical duties at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. Currently, she is an active member of The Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Anesthesiology.
In her free time, Dr. Chan enjoys spending time with her husband of 12 years and two children. She enjoys in participating in a healthy lifestyle. Her interests include marathon running, yoga, and skiing.
