Ken Burdick served as Executive Vice President, Markets & Products, for Centene Corporation from January 2020 until his retirement in January 2021. In this role, Ken had responsibility for th company’s Medicaid, Medicare and complex care $90B portfolio as well as the company’s brand and marketing functions. Prior to the January 2020 acquisition of WellCare by Centene, Ken served as the CEO of WellCare from 2015. During his tenure at WellCare the company’s market valuation increased from $3B to $17B. During his four decade distinguished career, Ken spent 14 years as an executive with United Health Group, rising through positions of increasing responsibility including the role of CEO of UnitedHealthcare. He began his career at Cigna where he spent 15 years in various financial, sales and marketing roles. Throughout his career, Mr. Burdick served on a number of non-profit boards and is currently the national board chair for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the nation’s oldest one-to-one youth mentoring organization. Ken also serves on a number of public and private boards. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College where he earned the academic distinction of summa cum laude. He also obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut while employed at Cigna.
